WELCOME TO THE VENETO CENTRE
A Cultural Hub for all Veneti Members in the Community.
In 1496, when he touched the shores of Newfoundland, Venice’s son, Giovanni Caboto, planted the flag of St. George to claim
the new lands (Canada) in the name of the King of England. Then unfurling a second flag bearing the lion of St. Mark he proclaimed,
“And this is for my beloved Venice.”
Cabot’s spirit lives on at the Veneto Centre where Venetian heritage and culture are on display and available to all and where,
to this date, the flag of St. Mark flies in homage to Our Beloved Venice.
