A record number of members and their guests attended the “Free Tennis Day” on Good Friday, April 18th. The event, held numerous times throughout the year, provided everyone with a chance to win two gold series tickets for this year’s Rogers Cup. Chris Body was the lucky winner. The Veneto will be offering a block of tickets for this year’s Rogers Cup to our members at a discounted price. Brandon Shaw from Tennis Canada has been instrumental in creating a partnership with our club and Tennis Canada for the purchase of tickets, the recognition of our club’s 20th anniversary at this year’s tournament, and future initiatives that will be held at the Veneto tennis Club. It is an exciting time for our club with this partnership, future high performance training, and the new red clay courts soon to be constructed. Thank you to our staff for hosting the event and to the volunteers Miguel Petrucci, John Leong, Sal Gironda, and Oscar Lemos for a great day of Free Tennis. Our next “Free Tennis” event is Victoria Day, May Monday May 26th. Our Summer Round Robin BBQ, Saturday June 28th. We hope to see you there!
