2.  SIGN UP FOR RIDES

Do it now!

For returning members – a reminder.
For new members – something new.

On our website we have a tab at the top titled “Event Calendar”.  Click on that and you will see a calendar populated with rides.  Click the appropriate date and sign in to the ride that you would like.  On Sunday rides, there are two tabs at the bottom of the page once you open it: “Lunch” and “Rides”.

Open the “Lunch” tab and sign in if you intend to stay for lunch.  It helps our kitchen crew estimate how much pasta to throw down.

Then open the “Rides” tab and scroll to the ride that you would like to join and sign in.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

3.  WEAR YOUR SUNDAY BEST THIS SUNDAY

This Sunday we will be regaled by our President on the benefits of riding and why the VCC is the best club this side of the Don River.  Afterwards, we’ll take a group photo to mark the 2017 season.  Please wear your Sunday Best for the occasion.

For newcomers, Sunday Best refers to the official kit of the VCC.  I know you may not have yours yet, but you’ll be welcomed to take part in the picture.

I hope that all the new members and those that do not yet own a VCC kit have ordered one for the season.  It is customary to wear your Sunday Best on the Sunday ride.  Conversely, we normally do not wear the Sunday Best on weeknights.  The Sunday Best should either be in the wash or resting in your closet for its special day – Sunday.

4.  PARKING

Please park in the south lots on Sundays – starting with this Sunday.

The south lots are on the right hand side when you come up the drive.

By leaving the main lot free, you give everyone room to gather into their groups and start their rides without having to weave around parked cars.  As well, when picnic season starts, we will leave the main parking lot free for the patrons.

5.  BRING YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD AND STAY AWHILE

Remember to bring your Membership Cards (in fact, just store them in your fanny pack).  Your card is your proof that you took the Mandatory Safety Course.  Without it, you cannot ride.

On this particular Sunday, don’t get uptight if we do not leave right at 8:00 am.  There are speeches to be heard, photos to be taken and besides, they say it will a bit cool and so leaving a bit later won’t be all that bad.

6.       VCC PICTURES OF THE WEEK

In order to make it into the VCC Bulletin, you need to do 3 things:

a.    Wear a VCC Jersey or stand next to someone wearing a VCC Jersey, and
b.    Take a picture or have one taken of you
c.    Forward it to me

Entry No. 1:  THE BOYS IN FLORIDA – submitted by Frank Mazzuca (No 2)

A group of VCC members headed south recently to take part in the Garneau Gran Fond in south Florida.  These pics were submitted by Frank Mazzuca no. 2.  Although they wore the kit provided by the Gran Fondo organizers, Frank had the presence of mind to submit at least one where everyone was wearing the VCC jersey.  That’s enough to quality.

The boys in the Garneau kit – dark, drab and ughh.

The boys in motion – you don’t know whose who – it’s a pass.

Ciao for now,
Sandro
